What should I wear?

At present, each of our events features a carefully planned craft activity chosen in advance. This allows us to source high-quality materials and equipment and to ensure every session is well-prepared and thoughtfully delivered.

As we are still in the early stages of our journey, our current programme includes a limited selection of dates and crafts. We’ve chosen these to offer a varied and enjoyable range of creative experiences, and we hope there is something to inspire everyone.

For bespoke private bookings and small group events, we are happy to discuss your preferences and tailor the crafting activity to suit your interests.

We also welcome suggestions. If there is strong interest in a particular craft, we will look to add additional dates throughout the year where possible. Please feel free to get in touch to share your ideas or make an enquiry.

Can I choose the craft activity?

Yes. We offer “for two” bookings at a discounted rate on selected events, making it even easier to enjoy the experience with a friend or loved one.

Occasionally, if spaces remain within two weeks of an event, or if a place becomes available due to a cancellation, we may offer last-minute spaces at a reduced rate. As our events often fill quickly, we recommend joining the waiting list to be notified of any availability.

All places are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

For bespoke private bookings, we also offer tailored package prices, taking into account the venue, catering, and chosen craft activities. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

What skill level are your events? I am a beginner.

All of our craft activities are carefully designed to be accessible and enjoyable for complete beginners, while still offering scope for those who are more confident and experienced.

Our sessions are led by skilled facilitators, including an experienced teacher, so you will receive plenty of clear guidance and gentle encouragement throughout. There are usually two of us on hand at each event – one to lead the activity and one to provide individual support and assistance.

Where an event is specifically aimed at more experienced crafters, this will always be clearly advertised in advance.

If you have any concerns or questions about your skill level, please feel free to contact us before booking – we’re always happy to help.

Do I get to keep what I make?

Yes – absolutely. All of our events include a guided craft activity, and you will take home your handmade creation at the end of the session as a keepsake of your experience.

Your piece is uniquely yours, shaped by your creativity and your personal journey on the day, and we hope it continues to bring you joy long after the event has finished.

Is it okay to come alone?

Absolutely. Many of our guests attend on their own, and you will be warmly welcomed into a friendly, supportive and inclusive space.

Our events are designed to gently encourage connection – with nature, with creativity, and with others – while always respecting personal boundaries and quiet moments. Whether you feel like chatting, listening, or simply enjoying peaceful time to yourself, you will be completely at ease.

If you would prefer to attend with someone special, we also offer “for two” bookings at a slightly discounted rate, which can be purchased with an optional gift presentation – perfect for friends, partners, or loved ones.

However you choose to join us, you’ll be met with kindness, encouragement, and a genuine sense of belonging.

Can children attend your events?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting a little messy, as some of our craft activities may involve paint, clay, glue, or other creative materials. We provide aprons to help protect your clothes wherever possible.

For events that include outdoor activities, nature walks, or uneven ground, we suggest suitable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing.

If any specialist footwear or outdoor wear is required for a particular event, you will be notified at least two weeks in advance, so you have plenty of time to prepare.

If you’re unsure what to wear for your chosen event, please feel free to contact us for advice.

Do you offer discounts?

We love and cherish children, and we deeply value the important role they play in our lives. However, our events are designed as adult-only spaces, created to offer you time to pause, step away from everyday responsibilities, and fully relax.

This is your opportunity to enjoy a calm, nurturing environment and the gift of uninterrupted time just for you – to rest, reconnect, and focus on your own wellbeing.

Where can I access your policy documents?

You can view and download pdf copies of all of our policies here.

Can I cancel my booking or move it to another event?

Yes, of course. If you need to cancel your booking, please email us as soon as possible so that we can update our records.

Full details of our refund policy are provided at the time of booking and in your confirmation email. As refund amounts vary depending on the type and cost of the event, and how far in advance you cancel, we ask that you refer to this policy for specific information relating to your booking.

A summary of our general refund policy is outlined below. Policy.

If you have any questions or are unsure about anything, please feel free to contact us and we’ll be happy to help.

What is your general refund policy for cancelled bookings?

We understand that plans can change, and we aim to be as fair and flexible as possible.

You may cancel your booking and receive a full refund within 14 days of booking, in line with the statutory cooling-off period.

After this 14-day period, you are welcome to transfer your booking to another suitable event free of charge, subject to availability. If you choose to move to a higher-priced event, your place will be confirmed once any additional cost has been paid.

If you prefer to cancel rather than reschedule after the cooling-off period, a non-refundable booking fee (amount depending on event) will be retained, and the following terms will apply:

  • If you cancel more than two weeks before the event:
The remaining balance, after the booking fee has been deducted, will be refunded.

    Example: Crafternoon - £65 paid – £20 booking fee = £45 refunded.

  • If you cancel less than two weeks before the event:
50% of the remaining balance, after the booking fee has been deducted, will be refunded.

    Example: Crafternoon - £65 paid – £20 booking fee = £45 remaining → £22.50 refunded.

Refunds are processed to the original payment method wherever possible.

If you have any questions about your booking or refund, please contact us and we will be happy to help.

Why do you retain a booking fee if I am being refunded after the 14 day cooling off period?

Our events are intentionally designed to be small and intimate, with limited spaces. This allows us to create a calm, supportive environment where every guest receives personal attention and high-quality guidance from our facilitators.

Because places are limited, each booking represents a significant commitment in terms of venue hire, food preparation, and the sourcing of specialist craft materials. Many of these costs are incurred in advance and cannot always be recovered if a space is cancelled and cannot be filled at short notice.

The booking fee helps us to cover these essential costs and enables us to continue offering carefully planned, high-quality experiences for all our guests.

We always aim to be as fair and flexible as possible, and we encourage guests to contact us as soon as possible if their plans change so that we can explore alternative options where appropriate.

What happens if Reconnect and Create cancel the event?

In the unlikely event that we need to cancel an event, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer you the option to transfer your booking to an alternative date.

If the alternative date is not suitable for you, a full refund will be issued, and no booking fee will be retained.

For example: if you have paid £65 for an event and we are unable to go ahead, the full £65 will be refunded to you.

Your trust is important to us, and we always aim to communicate clearly and act fairly if circumstances beyond our control arise.

Food FAQs

Do you cater for vegans?

We take all reasonable precautions to accommodate dietary requirements and to minimise the risk of allergen exposure. Where notified in advance, we will make every effort to avoid using your specified allergens in food preparation.

However, as food is prepared in shared environments, we cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from allergens. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before booking so we can discuss your needs in detail.

Yes – we are happy to cater for vegan, vegetarian, and a range of other dietary requirements. You will be sent a food requirements form prior to the event, allowing us to plan menus carefully and ensure your needs are thoughtfully accommodated.

If you have any specific concerns or preferences, please feel free to contact us in advance

What if I am gluten free or have an allergy?
Is all your food homemade?

Wherever possible, our food is freshly prepared and homemade by us, using quality, seasonal ingredients. We take pride in creating nourishing, delicious meals and treats that complement the calm, caring atmosphere of our events.

Very occasionally, we may include carefully selected shop-bought items where this best supports dietary requirements, food safety, or event logistics, but these are always chosen with the same attention to quality and wellbeing.

Can I choose what to have?

For our Crafternoon Tea and standard public events, we offer a set menu, thoughtfully designed and subject to dietary requirements provided in advance.

For bespoke private bookings and group events, we are happy to discuss menu options with you and tailor the food to suit your preferences and needs.

Venues and Accessibility

Where do you hold your events?

Our pre-advertised public events take place at a variety of carefully chosen venues across North and West Yorkshire. These are often community or charity spaces, always selected for their welcoming atmosphere and their connection to nature – even if that connection is through a small garden, courtyard, or cluster of trees.

Our Day Retreats and Weekend Craftaways are held at specially selected venues such as converted barns and rural retreat spaces, chosen for their peaceful surroundings and access to open landscapes, woodland, and natural beauty, allowing for deeper immersion and relaxation.

For bespoke private bookings, venues are discussed as part of the planning process. Events can be held at a venue of your choosing, or arranged at your home, workplace, or hired space, depending on your preferences and requirements.

As our journey grows, we hope in time to establish our own dedicated land and retreat space, creating a permanent home for Reconnect and Create experiences.

Full venue details are provided when you book and again before your event.

See our Accessibility policy for more information.

Are your events accessible?

Accessibility is extremely important to us, and it is something we actively prioritise when planning every event. One of our facilitators has a mobility need and understands first-hand how frustrating it can be when accessibility is overlooked, so inclusion is always at the heart of our decision-making.

We aim for the vast majority of our venues to be fully wheelchair accessible, and around 99% of our events take place in spaces that support step-free access and accessible facilities. Very occasionally, some outdoor or nature-based elements may include areas that are not fully accessible, as natural environments do not always accommodate every need. Where this applies, it will always be clearly advertised in advance.

We are also mindful of a wide range of additional needs, including ADHD, autism, mental health considerations, and fine motor skill difficulties. Our activities and venues are chosen with sensory comfort, flexibility, and wellbeing in mind, and one of our facilitators is a trained teacher with experience in adapting sessions to support diverse needs.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss your individual requirements, please feel free to contact us before booking. We are always happy to talk things through and help you decide if an event is right for you.

How do I get there?

We aim to choose venues that are accessible by public transport, with nearby train or bus links, so our events are easy to reach for guests who do not have access to a car.

For more rural retreat locations, where public transport may be limited, we are happy to help arrange lifts from the nearest train station or bus stop where possible. If you are concerned about transport, please get in touch in advance and we will do our best to support you.

Our priority is for you to arrive feeling relaxed, confident, and ready to enjoy your experience – without unnecessary worry.

Can I bring my dog?

To ensure the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of all our guests, we are only able to welcome registered assistance dogs or recognised emotional support animals at our events.

If you plan to attend with an assistance or support dog, please contact us in advance so that we can check for any significant allergies or concerns among other guests and make appropriate arrangements where possible. We also want to make sure your furry friend is well fed and watered so that they enjoy their time with us too!

Thank you for helping us to create a calm, inclusive, and considerate space for everyone.
